: If you're already using U.S. In-Bond Manager, just reach out to one of our friendly support representatives and we can enable it for you. If you haven't signed up to BorderConnect U.S. In-Bond Manager, you will have to register with BorderConnect and generate a Letter of Intent through our software and we will send it to CBP for you. Once you have a filer code (which typically takes approximately 2 weeks) you can then file QP in-bonds if you have been provided a sequence of in-bond entry numbers from CBP.
: Yes! You can sign up for a 30 day FREE trial of BorderConnect's QP In-Bond filing today! It's risk-free and there is absolutely no financial obligation. After your free month's trial, you'll fall under one of our dynamic subscription plans depending on how many in-bond shipments you process per-month.
: Yes, BorderConnect can generate a CBP Form 7512 after you process the QP In-Bond and will automatically include all the information you entered for the in-bond. The paper 7512 can no longer be presented to CBP to arrive and export an in-bond, and the regulations do include the elimination of the paper 7512. However, there are numerous exceptions to this, including shipments moving by air, the requirements of specific CBP ports, and as part of bonded warehouse and foreign trade zone movements. As such, we recommend continuing to keep a paper 7512 copy with the shipment unless you're able to specifically rule out the possibility that it will be needed at some point in the process.
: If you're filing your in-bonds using ACE, you are meeting your electronic reporting requirements, but if you ever pick up in-bond shipments within the U.S., there would be no ACE eManifest for you to use for reporting, so you would need to use QP filing. You would also need to file using QP in-bond if another party did the ACE eManifest. This is why we recommend getting set up for BorderConnect's QP In-Bond filing either way, so that you are set up to handle electronic reporting for any and all cases.
: Of course! Filing QP in-bonds as an ocean, or air carrier is your only option for filing U.S. in-bonds with CBP. With BorderConnect's QP filing you can also easily assign multiple containers and bill of ladings to a single bond entry.
: Anyone with a valid filer code with U.S. CBP can process QP In-Bonds. You can file them yourself for your own company, or for other carriers if you have an arrangement or contract with them.
